U.S. Army Specialist Doug is serving in the National Guard, and currently deployed in the Middle East, where he rescued a tiny kitten he immediately knew wouldn't survive alone. Caring for the little cat became a high point of the day, and he'd sit for hours after duty while Taz slept on his lap.
When Taz went missing SPC Doug feared the worst - there are many dangers in the surrounding areas, and when two months had passed, SPC Doug was certain something awful had happened to his friend.
One day after a long shift he was heading back to his room when he saw a familiar face... it was Taz! He ran to his soldier, and on seeing his friend relief overwhelmed SPC Doug.
