A Hero helping Heroes
Our hero firefighter from Commack, Long Island, New York is setting off to hike the Appalachian Trail to raise funds for Paws of War and awareness for veterans and first responders facing mental health challenges.
Robert Weisberg, of Nesconset, New York is setting off to walk the Appalachian Trail on March 11, 2023. The trail from Georgia to Maine will take Rob close to 6 months to complete. Rob's goal is to finish the hike on September 11, 2023.
Weisberg has been a volunteer fighter with the Commack Fire Department in New York for 29 years. Rob being an eagle scout always had the Appalachian trail on his bucket list, but he isn't just doing this to check it off his list but because he wants to give back to others also.
Weisberg's own dog, Chip has one more assessment with Paws of War before he qualifies as a service dog to continue helping Weisberg manage his PTSD from heroic actions on September 11th 2001.
Please consider making a contribution to Rob's Hike! You will be helping raise crucial funds so Paws of War can continue to support our Veterans and First Responders like Rob.
