A rescued dog named Viddar is so attached to his soldier that he cries as soon as he leaves the room. Viddar did not always have such a good life surrounded by love and affection, and he is in danger of losing his happy life. Sergeant Logins who rescued him is being deployed to a new location and can’t take Viddar with him. He saved a puppy from certain death and needs our help to rescue this dog and get him to the U.S. safely, to be reunited with Sgt. Logins where they will live together.

Sergeant Logins while serving his country overseas in the U.S. Army, witnessed something he will never forget.

Sgt. Logins was walking along a road with some other soldiers while on down time. They came across a man and dog picking through some piles of garbage. The man suddenly picked up the dog and threw him on the ground and yelled for the dog to go away. The dog sat dazed a bit, but then slowly walked to the far end of the garbage and started sniffing around again. The dog was emaciated and clearly hungry. The man grabbed a machete held the dog down on the ground and was clearly going to hack it to death.

The dog was not even struggling, maybe it had given up wanting to live and had accepted its painful death. Sgt. Logins could not just keep walking. He ran up to the man and pleaded for the dog’s life. With the machete held high in the air, ready to kill the man hesitated. Luckily one of the soldiers knew enough of the local language and was able to negotiate for the dog’s life. They gave the man a few dollars and he got up and left the dog lying on the ground.

The dog just lied motionless as Sgt. Logins approached him. Not knowing what to do next Sgt. Logins reached into his pocket and found a small piece of jerky and offered it to the dog. Very unsure and slowly the dog lifted his head and took the jerky. As soon as the puppy tasted the jerky he wagged his tail a bit and slowly stood up and let Sgt. Logins pet him. The pup looked up and gave a very sheepish and weak bark. Sgt. Logins knew it was the pups way of saying thank you.

That was it, Sgt. Logins knew he could not leave the dog there, only to die another day. They started head back towards the base where they knew one of the locals lived and could offer this pup a place to stay until they could find him a home. They named the pup Viddar. The soldiers started to bring Viddar food every day and play with him. Viddar brought so much joy to the soldiers each day.

The joy was short lived as the local told them he could not keep the dog for much longer. Some of the locals had warned him that the dog had to go or his family would face consequences. Knowing he needed a permanent solution Sgt. Logins was put in tough with Paws of War.

Paws of War is arranging for Viddar to be rescued and brought to the U.S. but we need your help.
